Cons
Simply put it the workers at Marukai are great to work with. Management isn't perfect I understand they try what they can do for there employees depending on the chain of command since Marukai is a big company aka Tokyo central. Company focuses more on sales than employees interest. Employees can make recommendations at the end of the year to make changes however nothing ever changes according to employees that stayed there for many years. You will always get paid minimum wage. There are no raises or opportunities to go up the chain. Company throws alot of work at you that it feels like it can be overwhelming and not rewarding. The pay is not enough for the workload responsibilities. American grocery stores pay more for cashier and stocker with better benefits. Its work harder not smarter. Many employees are always disgruntled and many employees keep there opinions there themselves to avoid confrontation. You have to see it to believe it. I feel like I'm a full time employee but I'm only working part time they cap my hours to 38 so that I can't get fulltime with benefits.i request to become full time I get denied because I was told if I was given fulltime all the other part time employees want to be fulltime. I worked about 5-6 days a week sometimes Im still working off the clock to help close the store or come an hour early before clock in to start the day. Did I mention I work outside my job discription 80% of the time. I even done some work in the office it's doesn't make since. People that work there for almost 10 year can become a lead store associate or assistant manager. Lead store associate are fulltime and get paid 1 dollar more than minimum wage. Regular employees can't become a lead unless the lead steps down or leaves the company hence why management doesn't want to give fulltime to part time employees.
