Pros
The flexibility in schedules is one of the best of my experience. Time off is relatively easy to get as long as you give the proper notice which is understandable considering work is based on appointments. Atmosphere among the Massage Therapists is friendly and collaborative with everyone willing to share knowledge and provide advice. Management does a good job to be understanding when a change in scheduling is required.
Cons
There is a distinct separation between the reception desk and the therapists; each with goals which are sometimes not complimentary and sometimes at odds. Management and the reception desk are known to create unnecessary obstacles through ineptitude partially due to high turnover and apathetic attitude. Management is quick to admonish and slow to praise. Some therapists begin to show apathy towards the background tasks within 6 months. Massage therapists are not eligible for raises and very few incentives are rewarded for good performance. Overall cleanliness of location and maintenance of equipment is poor. Receptionists' knowledge of massage in general, beyond the blurb they memorize for clients, is poor and most don't care to learn more.
