Pros
- The team is brilliant and friendly. - Great company culture where employees are empowered to take ownership of the product - A lot of room for career growth: members of the team often find themselves growing to contribute in capacities outside the role they were hired for - You have a lot of autonomy in choosing projects and executing them - The company is in an interesting space with a ton of growth potential - You constantly get to work on interesting challenges a fast-paced environment - Good work life balance, especially for a start up - Genuinely fun game nights and off-sites that aren't just mandatory fun - CEO does a great job of setting a vision for the company and is super responsive to feedback and ideas
Cons
- Don't have all the perks of a larger, more established company (e.g. 401k) - No option for remote work - There isn't as much of an emphasis on mentorship as you'd get at some larger companies. I've learned a lot working at Matroid, but that's been primarily a self-driven and self-directed effort.
