      Good company to start a cdla career - Class A CDL Professional Driver Maverick Transportation Employee Review

      Pros

      Pay is decent to start with no experience, they will train you for a cdla if you are able to pass all the background checks and such, flexible and work with you on home time when you need it, other Maverick professional drivers have always been helpful and polite, also very understanding when it comes to driving in inclement weather. They put your safety first and not the load.

      Cons

      Home time can be tough if you aren't used to being out on the road a week at a time, however this is true for all otr positions. Some customer locations we delivery too can be very rough to back into, this is no fault of Maverick just something to consider.

      Pros

      Good training overall. Some trainers are really good.

      Cons

      Beware of the lies from the recruiters. They will say things that are completely not true. People quitting other jobs for this one just to found nothing they were told to make the decision was true. Pay does not compensate the amount of work you do every day. Communication between dispatchers and fleat managers and drivers is terrible. They just care about making money and not their drivers safety/wellbeing.
