Pros
Large company Great talent in the front-lines Very dedicated and loyal employees who keep looking after the customers despite the moronic decisions coming down from the top
Cons
Huge political mess - in a recent lay off cycle managers saved their a**es while letting some of the top performers in the front-line go - this has had a big effect on customers - but who cares about customers in this company. Low morale all around in the ranks from front lines to upper middle-management No clear sense of direction or focused vision Top execs keep their eye on the stock price and cashing in their options payouts: and do everything possible to show high quarterly returns - at the expense of employees: Case in point #1: how can a company that is #15 on the Fortune 500 not even come close to the Fortune's 100 best companies to work for? Case in point #2: This company makes US$110Billion in 2010 with 36,000 employees, while the other big hitters in the top 15 of Fortune make similar revenues with 3 times more employees. What is wrong with that picture?
