Pros
During my internship at MeVitae, I worked in the sales department but gained exposure to much more! I was able to network, presented my ideas for enhancing the analytics product, I created a podcast, and managed a Fairness in HR audit. This experience really helped my understanding of DE&I and allowed me to develop valuable skills in project management, communication, and relationship building. These are all skills that will serve me well in the future. I appreciated the flexibility of remote work, which allowed me to manage my day effectively outside of scheduled meetings.
Cons
I'd say it may take time to come out of your shell to begin with, especially because it is remote work. But once you break that internal barrier, it begins to all go up hill. I'd also say - the more you put in is the more you get out!
