Cons
The operating owner is highly intelligent and knowledgeable, but is also manipulative, mean, and unprofessional. She will disparage, discipline, and argue with employees in front of the entire office and in front of clients. Considers employees to be disposable. Has often bragged about how she gets "problem" employees to quit so that she doesn't have to pay unemployment. Makes promises she has no intention of keeping, such as offering benefits, bonuses, and work-from-home privileges. Owner does not have a college degree of her own, and often tells employees with bachelor's or master's degrees that higher education is useless unless you are a doctor or a lawyer. Employees are either the scapegoat or the hero at any given time, depending on what she needs from you at the moment. Corporate strategy changes on a day-to-day basis, often without warning. Owner will change her mind, change it back, and then deny that she ever made a change in the first place. Even job titles change at the whim of the owner - both up and down the corporate hierarchy - with no change in compensation or reason for the change. Owner also considers her opinions and strategy to be the only choice, and she routinely pushes back on client requests by telling them that "she is the marketing expert" and "knows what's best for them". Clients confide that they find her pushy and rude, and only stay with MM as vendor because of the service and responsiveness from the rest of the team.
