Pros

Great exposure to sales and getting outside of your comfort zone. Gave me the confidence to realize I could be good at sales. There is definitely a type of person that thrives at meltwater but I am not one of them. I would recommend this as a stop-gap job

Cons

Toxic Culture. Aggressive sales tactics lead to high turnover. So many unpaid hours. Passive aggressiveness. “Homework” on sundays. 3 zooms a day for cold calling just making it harder to focus. Everything is tracked and people often praised for making the most calls even if they are dialing random numbers. Product is never a need for companies - way overpriced.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. You are right in saying our sales program will put you outside of your comfort zone. We know this isn't an easy job, and it's not meant for everyone. Our sales methodology including KPI's around prospecting and activity has been tried and tested over the past 15 years to propel our sales employees to success. That being said, it isn’t for everyone, and I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. All the best in your future success.

Pros

The product is cool and if properly onboarded customers will get value from it. Coworkers are fairly social If you are new to sales would be a good place to learn the basics

Cons

Probably the cheapest company I have ever worked for. Benefits are below standard, they changed the commission plan every year I was there so that you would make less money, and you are expected to share hotel rooms when you travel. Look up Meltwater on Reddit or LinkedIn. They are known for very aggressive sales tactics which you will be forced to implement on your customers. A culture of micromanagement that comes from the top down. Virtually no avenue for promotion unless you are willing to move or get lucky and someone leaves.
