Pros
The pay was fairly decent
Cons
I worked here for almost 8 years as a RN. I went back to school to get my Masters (FNP). I was told a month before my graduation, by a newer administrator, that I would not be able to remain in my current position with an Advanced Practice Degree. No other administrator prior to her, in the 3 years I was in school ever mentioned this. HR really allowed her to place me on an unpaid leave for advancing my education. When an opening did come up in the system for a Nurse Practitioner, they wouldn’t allow me to transfer to that position because of lack of a certification that they preferred for that position. Apparently, I was too educated for my current position but they offered no assistance in placing me in a different position. I ultimately landed at a great hospital in the same Nurse Practitioner position that my currently employer of 8 years wouldn’t hire me for.
