Pros
Mercer has an entrepreneurial environment in which you can create opportunities. You have to be a self-promoter in many cases, unless you have a deep technical expertise in one of the specialties.
Cons
Mercer is working on shedding it's historically closed-room business decision-making and revising its comp plans to focus on pay for performance. You have to be a self-starter, while their is some meritocracy, if you can't toot your own horn a bit, sometimes your good work may be taken for granted.
