Pros

-Amazing co-workers -Shout outs in weekly meetings -Company Events -Beer on Fridays -Brand discounts -Nice, clean office

Cons

- Constant changes in direction within your role without any heads up or discussion. Your role responsibilities, supervisor are subject to change in as little as 24 hours if that is what leadership and upper management decided. If any of your Feedback on these changes is negative - you will be made to feel stupid and/or accused of creating "poor morale" - You will be called family, as you are about to become a member of a very dysfunctional family where you will be gaslit, gossiped about, you will hear a whole lot of "do as I say" not as I do. - Your feedback will not be valued, it falls on deaf ears. Not a single change is made with the employees in mind, no matter how hard they try to convince you that your opinions matter. - This company is so consumed with beating their competitors that they will set unrealistic goals and put policies in place that they have not yet proven they can handle for the sake of being on par with a competitor. - A very high turnover rate, 19% as of 6 months ago which with the mass exodus they are currently experiencing has had to have increased that percentage. - More than 15 people who were at the company when I was hired are no longer there when I had left either being fired or leaving on their own account if they were smart. - Leadership of the Customer Service department talk to you like children, I think they forget these are real people who are giving their all for them and the respect is never shown or reciprocated. I, have had my confidence crushed at this job due to how small the management made me feel. - You will be overworked and underpaid. The duties and responsibilities you were hired to do will increase and change in months to come without notice or increase in compensation. - Values quantity over quality - it doesn't matter how well spoken or well written you are. If you aren't quick enough to meet their gamified KPI's, you will be reminded of it and ridiculed. - Their KPI scoring system is presented where you are able to see the numbers of other members on your team. Even though the names are blocked - it is pretty easy to assume who is who after awhile and going back to your desk knowing you had the worst numbers is soul crushing (and they have nerve to blame frustrated employees for low morale) - This is a high-school under the guise of a corporate job, you will feel like you are back in the 10th grade. Super cliquey office environment that thrives off gossip. I consider myself a resilient and thick skinned person but my mental health plummeted after working at Merchology and I warn anyone seeking a position here to apply at their own risk.

Seasonal discounts on nice brands Paid volunteering Dogs on Friday (used to be beer Fridays!) Some awesome co-workers

Cons

Extremely unprofessional childish and vindictive leadership, This is one of the worst companies I've worked for. They have employees submit favorable reviews to push the bad ones down. These are extremely easy to spot, no one thinks this place is an amazing company unless you're the ones running it. On top of being toxic and manipulative, they do not respect their employees. They use intimidation tactics and make sure it's known that any type of feedback or questioning of their business practices then you will be targeted. They make changes at the drop of a hat and do not give any room for adjustment, yes, we know that welcoming change is in your core values and many handle these changes impeccably, Merchology just fails to communicate them and it is hard to take seriously when it is blatant that leadership does NOT know what they are doing. I honestly could go on and on...

Thank you taking the time to share your thoughts and for your years of service with Merchology. While you clearly left feeling frustrated we also want to respond with honesty and clarity as we feel your comments don’t reflect what truly happens here. First, we have never forced employees to submit positive reviews. Our team is made up of individuals who have vastly different experiences, and many do feel genuinely proud of their work and their colleagues. Regarding your concerns about intimidation or retaliation for feedback: this is something we take seriously, and it’s not how we operate. We encourage direct, respectful conversations and have multiple channels in place for employees to raise concerns confidentially. It’s disappointing to hear that you felt otherwise. On communication and change: Merchology does move quickly, and we know that can create challenges. We’re not perfect, but the changes we make are intentional and they’re driven by data, the needs of the business, and our customers, We genuinely regret that your experience has not reflected the culture we work hard to build. We also know many current and former team members have had very different, positive experiences, and those perspectives matter just as much. Thank you again for sharing your point of view. According to your review, you are still an employee and we encourage you to get in touch with the People Team to share this feedback. As you likely know, we have methods for you to share your concerns confidentially. Please utilize those tools or reach out to the People Team directly to help Merchology grow!
