- Constant changes in direction within your role without any heads up or discussion. Your role responsibilities, supervisor are subject to change in as little as 24 hours if that is what leadership and upper management decided. If any of your Feedback on these changes is negative - you will be made to feel stupid and/or accused of creating "poor morale"
- You will be called family, as you are about to become a member of a very dysfunctional family where you will be gaslit, gossiped about, you will hear a whole lot of "do as I say" not as I do.
- Your feedback will not be valued, it falls on deaf ears. Not a single change is made with the employees in mind, no matter how hard they try to convince you that your opinions matter.
- This company is so consumed with beating their competitors that they will set unrealistic goals and put policies in place that they have not yet proven they can handle for the sake of being on par with a competitor.
- A very high turnover rate, 19% as of 6 months ago which with the mass exodus they are currently experiencing has had to have increased that percentage.
- More than 15 people who were at the company when I was hired are no longer there when I had left either being fired or leaving on their own account if they were smart.
- Leadership of the Customer Service department talk to you like children, I think they forget these are real people who are giving their all for them and the respect is never shown or reciprocated. I, have had my confidence crushed at this job due to how small the management made me feel.
- You will be overworked and underpaid. The duties and responsibilities you were hired to do will increase and change in months to come without notice or increase in compensation.
- Values quantity over quality - it doesn't matter how well spoken or well written you are. If you aren't quick enough to meet their gamified KPI's, you will be reminded of it and ridiculed.
- Their KPI scoring system is presented where you are able to see the numbers of other members on your team. Even though the names are blocked - it is pretty easy to assume who is who after awhile and going back to your desk knowing you had the worst numbers is soul crushing (and they have nerve to blame frustrated employees for low morale)
- This is a high-school under the guise of a corporate job, you will feel like you are back in the 10th grade. Super cliquey office environment that thrives off gossip.
I consider myself a resilient and thick skinned person but my mental health plummeted after working at Merchology and I warn anyone seeking a position here to apply at their own risk.
