Pros

MercuryWorks has a very close-nit team mentality. We get to work on all types of projects with all types of companies. Engineering focused, there is not a lot of red-tape for development. Agile focused so not every project has to a roadmap guiding the entire route of the project, i.e. many projects are building out phase 1 and improving upon it based on client feedback so it seems very modern compared to most companies that just break a big goal into smaller objectives and call it Agile. Compensation is at or above market so that is a win-win.

Cons

TimeTracking. Its essential for the business to log client hours but it can feel a bit overwhelming to employees when a project runs long or your not sure how to estimate an upcoming project. The company is small, this can be a positive at teams for getting to know everything and a friendly environment but can sometimes be challenging in work delegation.

Pros

Excellent Compensation and Remote Work Opportunities The development team is highly skilled and the overall team dynamic is fantastic. There's a wealth of knowledge to acquire and a plethora of engaging projects. I've learned a lot! The HR system and individual employee meetings reflect a genuine concern for employee well-being and job satisfaction. The level of organization, from sprint structures to standup meetings, is truly commendable.

Cons

Remote Work = Flexibility, but this can also lead to a "work at any time and any place". The 401K and health insurance offerings could be improved. The onboarding process could be improved for new employees. The emphasis on tracking every hour (down to 15 minutes increments) can be demanding. Occasionally, upper management sets high expectations to meet client demands, which may not always be feasible. The role may sometimes lean more towards being an "order taker" than leading product development. The workload can become overwhelming, particularly when managing multiple clients and striving to coordinate sprint refinements, meet sprint deadlines, and deliver releases as per the strict client-driven schedules.
