Pros
I've worked for many different tutoring companies and honestly MeriEducation is by far the best company I've worked with; there's just so much to love about MeriEducation. I've been working here for almost 10 months and it feels like I've been working here forever. The students are adorable and committed to learning. This isn't just a place where parents drop off their students for tutoring. On the contrary, the parents are extremely involved and communicate with us regarding their students (how sessions went, any concerns they may have, etc). I also love the relationship between the tutors and students, it isn't just a "you teach me, I learn" environment, it's so much more.
Communication is a key component to MerEducation and I honestly enjoy it. In many companies, you see a workplace hierarchy, but not here. Everyone is extremely respectful towards one another and the owner of the company, Joan is also very passionate about improving her business. She is always a step ahead of the game, maybe even two! She doesn't just have a manager and employees who do everything like other companies, she truly cares for her employees and clients and is equally involved as everyone else. Alongside Joan, the HR and HQ teams are always looking out for their tutors and handle personal situations in a very respectful and professional manner. I love how responsive and helpful everyone is. We are four different centers located in different cities, yet it doesn't feel that way. We all work together as one. If someone needs help with a client, a tutor, center needs, everyone steps in and offers to help. It's truly amazing to see a company so united regardless of the different locations. :)
Cons
The only con I can really recommend is I wish there were more team meeting with everyone. Even though the CROP and TROP team are really close, many tutor don't know one another, so it would be nice to have more team building activities or meetings where all four centers meet. :)
