Cons
My time as a Field Technician at this company presented significant challenges regarding compensation, work-life balance, and company culture.
Despite rising costs, there were no cost-of-living increases during my employment. Mileage reimbursement was $0.35 per mile, which I found inadequate given the extensive travel required. This placed a burden on my vehicle, with no assistance for maintenance. Routes often exceeded the initially stated driving range.
Employee commitment felt one-sided, with frequent unreciprocated requests. Communication was limited to monitored apps, hindering open dialogue. Monthly calls seemed more like propaganda than collaboration. Leadership often lacked field experience, leading to impractical policies. HR operated with a very firm approach. The company's focus seemed heavily on profit margins over employee well-being, customer satisfaction, or the animals.
Personally, I believe the company’s model faces long-term challenges. The focus appeared to be on maximizing profits at the top, shifting burdens onto technicians. One core value is “Above the Bar,” but practices often felt below this standard, lacking fairness and ethical consideration.
If considering a role here, research competitors and weigh all options.
