Best Place to Work and Provide Quality Healthcare - Risk Management Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

Even though Methodist Dallas is a large hospital it has a small town feel. As you pass others in the hall they say hello. The staff is always willing to help visitors and other staff members when needed. Leadership is very supportive of staff and truly care about you as a person, They offer supportive benefits that show they care in addition to the regular benefits most employers offer. I have worked here for 21 years and I can't imagine working anywhere else.

Cons

Everywhere you work will always have downsides and short comings, but at Methodist these are few and far between and very minor ones. I personally do not have any complaints about Methodist. They provide a shuttle from the parking areas during all weather conditions. The benefits are good, pay is comparable to other organizations, etc. In fact, almost everyone that leaves Methodist for "greener pastures" eventually returns to Methodist.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
