Best Place to Work with a Great Culture - Project Manager Methodist Health System Employee Review

Pros

I'm still amazed at how the senior executives not only feel that patient care is a priority but also employee engagement. Employee engagement starts at the executive level and when staff feels valued, then they're job performance is top notch. I believe Methodist does a great job at this by recognizing staff at a system level and at each individual hospital. Every hospital has their own unique culture that creates a family-oriented environment. I come to work because I feel valued and because of my co-workers that I work with every day. Methodist provides opportunities for career growth and is a learning environment.

Cons

The technology could continue to improve more.

Pros

Coming from a smaller size hospital but big company like Methodist and known high paying hospital in DFW, I needed more shifts. Since MDMC is bigger than my other PRN, I have higher chance of getting shifts because there are more monitoring stations, more staff taking PTOs, higher chance of staff calling out sick and therefore opening the shift, etc.

Cons

More workload and higher census! Almost 50 patients on heart monitor per station.

We're glad to hear that the flexibility and availability of shifts have been a benefit for you. As one of the region's largest health systems, Methodist offers opportunities that can help PRN team members find the schedule that works best for them. We also recognize that higher patient volumes and workload expectations can come with working in a busy, high-acuity environment. Supporting our team members remains a priority, and we continually evaluate our compensation programs and workplace resources to remain competitive and help our employees succeed. Thank you for the important role you play in caring for our patients and for being a valued member of the Methodist family.
