Pros

I have worked for MHS over five years in a corporate role. I fully trust our leaders and my team. We have a family-like culture where everyone belongs. I wouldn’t want to work at any other health system in DFW. As a smaller system in the market, there are great growth opportunities for corporate positions. Early career corporate team members have access to senior leaders and opportunity to influence strategy and outcomes. I work closely with many patient care teams and am always impressed by our nursing and physician leaders and their commitment to their staff and patients.

Cons

Though we benchmark salaries to the market, there are positions that feel they are under compensated. There also can be a tendency for high performers to be overloaded with projects because we operate with lean teams. Experienced leaders are able to help navigate this for their teams, but newer leaders can struggle to balance expectations.

Pros

Money Insurance Good Boss Good coworkers Enjoyed orientation

Cons

During the orientation, they tell employees that their health is important. As health professionals, our health has to be good so we can take care of our patients and make their health better. However, Methodist Health System makes it extremely hard for an employee if they don’t have enough PTO to be able to get the help they need. So say you don’t have enough PTO but you need a doctors appointment that you have to go to. You’re gonna get a write up and those write ups eventually turn into termination. So where is the grace in the health system? Methodist would be a wonderful place to work if they truly understood their employees are human. I had someone pass away and I couldn’t even go to their funeral because I didn’t have the PTO and couldn’t afford to get a write up. I would’ve loved to have been able to go to my uncle’s funeral. Did anyone care know all you get is sorry for your loss, but you don’t have enough PTO…. So crappy. You’re BEYOND REPLACEABLE and they make sure you know it.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are truly sorry to hear about your loss. No one should feel unsupported when navigating what was clearly a very difficult time. At Methodist Health System, we strive to care for our employees with the same compassion we extend to our patients. We encourage you to reach out to your HR partner or a trusted leader so we can better understand your situation and explore how we can support you. Your voice matters, and we remain dedicated to making Methodist a place where our team members feel valued and cared for.
