Pros

Metric is a concentration of many of the most intelligent people I have ever encountered (professionally or otherwise). If you enjoy being challenged by people who make you think more rigorously, Metric Collective is the perfect place to work. You will have to put time into wrapping your head around concepts, and coming up with creative solutions to complex challenges.

Cons

Business here is fast-paced and won't wait for you to catch up at your own pace. (Unrelated): There is a lot of room for idea generation, but not always a lot of room for idea implementation. There won't always be an opportunity to chase down every project you'd like to complete. Most importantly, however, there is also an uncertainty about the social/cultural/political efficacy of the work done here. It is exciting to work on new products and problem-solve with people you admire, but you may find yourself wishing that you were doing more to fix the major issues that face our generation.

Pros

You get a lot of autonomy and trust in working at Metric Collective, and your growth and learning will always be a priority. The team works very closely with one another to support each other through projects. This is a very fast paced company, so you'll always be kept on your toes and be given tasks to work on. The company is also very open to suggestions or projects if anyone has any ideas that would benefit the business. Communication is really strong across the team and everyone is extremely respectful. Leaders are supportive and make sure that everyone is growing in their roles and feel appreciated. Everyone in this company has a voice, no matter what title or responsibilities you're holding. As with every company, trials do happen from time to time, but one thing that really stood out to me about this company is how the team has always put our brains together to figure out how to best navigate difficult situations. I really like it here - there's no other place I'd choose to do an internship at.

Cons

This company may not be suitable for people who believe in a top-down traditional corporate approach - everyone is given a fair stake and voice at Metric Collective and innovative ideas are always welcome.

Pros

1. AUTONOMY. Not a buzzword, but an actual cultural reality. If you are entrepreneurial minded and thrive on ownership, making your own schedule and systems, you will thrive. 2. RELAXED. From the unlimited vacation policy to the lunch culture to the dress code to the overall attitude, our workplace proves that pressure is a choice. 3. CHALLENGING. People here are smart, sharp and will not let you get away with much, which is a good thing. 4. FEEL SEEN. It's one thing to have your talents appreciated, it's another thing to have them activated. Metric does both. 5. TEST. The nature of our business is fueled by testing, which means trying stuff, failing, learning, and trying again. The combination of curiosity and grit keeps things exciting. P.S. We also do fun stuff as a team. Previous jobs made me want to get out of the office as soon as possible and work from home more. Here it's the opposite.

Cons

1. CRITICAL. People with thin skin will struggle here. If you don't know how to accept direct and sometimes difficult feedback (and implement it quickly), you will feel overwhelmed. 2. DISORDERLY. Our office can be a bit of a frat house at times. Not only because it's bro-heavy, but it can be disorganized and hard to find stuff.
