Pros
In my experience department co-workers and low-level managers are good people who care about one another. Health benefits are alright, but not great. There is a good wellness plan in place, including fitness/health-related classes and activities available during work hours (like yoga, daily walks, running workshops, and nutrition classes), and bikes are provided to get to different locations onsite. Opportunities for CE's, conferences, and lunch and learns depending on the department/field you're in.
Cons
The company is out of touch with the employees, and is severely behind the times in terms of culture and value. Not a positive work environment, and there is zero transparency here; no company-wide meetings or any sort of regular communications with employees from upper management/the district manager. District manager does not foster an encouraging environment or team work. MWRD is currently working on a strategic plan, which includes becoming a "great place to work". Hopefully, it will become one, and can join other Denver companies in having a progressive outlook on work policies, benefits, and general attitudes about employees.
