Pros

- Female CEO that has a strong background on the market and the domain. - Backing and funding from one of the biggest retail banks in the market (Natwest) - Embraces full remote working. - Perks that usually come from traditiona banks, like extra days off etc.

Cons

- Engineering wise is driven by a mixture of contractors and consultants - very typical for banks, despite being a start-up it seems that it follows the trends of the mother ship or other banks in the market. - Perm employees are usually silenced or treated as second class citizens when it comes to influencing tech roadmap or choices. - If you take a step back, their tech stack is way behind than any of the competitors out there. - Tech decisions are mostly driven by hype and the intention to look good on the CV rather than being pragmatic and work. - Promotions are mostly targetting a specific `group` of people with certain characteristics :) - It really suffers from the effect of toxic positivity mostly derived from its strong root on of contractors & consultancy agencies that run the show in many of the departments. - If you don't get to agree with certain things you are more or less - cornered and marginilised.

Pros

The projects were reasonably well resourced

Cons

A high level of expertise is required from any new employee but no training or guidance is offered. Seemed like Management was just waiting for their employees to make a mistake so that they could criticise and demolish the person.

Pros

Everything takes ages because of heaps of process so it can be chill at times. Good holiday allowance. The staff on the ground are lovely (it’s the decision-makers who are awful). Semi-recently appointed CEO is nice but she seems to wield zero power.

Cons

Who is in charge: a load of immature men getting paid too much to make biased decisions which they are not informed to make. They don’t know what they’re doing. The company doesn’t care about its employees - there’s posturing around career growth, etc but it ultimately amounts to nothing. They are cynical and those in charge are highly self-interested. Everything is put back onto the employees - senior managers do nothing. There is no budget to do anything social. Company is also stingy with swag (as in there is none). No free snacks or even milk in the office. And staff are forced to go in even though the wifi barely works and it's a battle to get a desk or meeting room. A very bad office setup. Used to be cool but has lost the plot. All the best people are now gone.
