Pros

If you like working long hours with no overtime pay, all while the CEO devalues your worth, this place is perfect for you!

Cons

If you interview for a position at MICRO, ask the CEO why nearly every person hired leaves within just a year of employment. Ask him why the position you are applying for is open. Ask why his co-founder quit. Ask why he went from having 12 employees to just 3. Ask him why women don't feel safe around him. He won't tell you the truth, but perhaps you can still dodge this bullet.

We are very sorry to hear this about your experience working at MICRO, and we appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. As we’re sure you’re aware, the founders of MICRO were in a romantic relationship that ended at the beginning of COVID. At the end of last year, one of the founders left to pursue a career in academia. This year, we’ve brought in a new CEO, and she has over a decade of experience building and scaling nonprofit and benefit corporations. Her main goal is to ensure MICRO is a place where every member of the team can do the best work of their career. To address your feedback directly: All staff who are overtime eligible (not on salary) are paid overtime in accordance with New York state laws. If you have specific suggestions on how we might help salaried workers manage their workload, we would love to hear it. While MICRO has never had more than six employees, we do recognize that retention of employees is always a key issue at growing companies, and we take it very seriously. It is important to us that every voice at MICRO is amplified and valued, and we are committed to tackling any issues raised by the team.

Pros

Of all the organizations I've worked with this has the largest potential to be impactful - each day brings exciting opportunities and the faces of people when they discover the museums are unforgettable.

Cons

It's a small group that just went through some transitions, but the results are really encouraging. I feel valued, motivated and excited to come into work everyday.
