Pros

They try to give good benefits compared to other ECE programs.

Cons

The worst thing about working here was the fakeness. The CEO Pamela Harris only cares how things look, not about what’s really happening. So on PD days we all have to sit on zoom and listen to her tell us all about all the great things we’re doing and you sit there thinking ‘then why is every day a mess of chaos, understaffing, and news of the latest firing?!’ Licensing and Head Start say you can’t be one teacher alone with the children but Mile High’s entire staffing plan is set up that way and then they fire staff when something goes wrong in that scenario. The few good people in management have all been fired or left. The rest are so afraid to speak truth to the CEO that its gas lighting every day, every where.

Pros

wellness time, higher wages compared to other ECE orgs and schools

Cons

Although they claim to be focused on DEI, and work primarily with marginalized, low-income, and diverse communities, Mile High Early Learning does not apply those values internally within the work environment. It is all performative and have used and tokenized many people of color within the org. The leadership team continuously gives themselves raises while leaving teachers and floaters, education coaches, and mental health and disabilities team, and other vital program workers struggling. Majority of the senior leadership and leadership team are white people who sit in their privilege and don't resemble nor can relate to their workers and the families they work with. Many microaggressions, subconscious bias, and implicit racism with no consequences or accountability taken.
