Great money, and for licensed mariners the sea time is hard to beat, 4 years 3rd A/E to chief if you work hard enough at it.
Cons
Time off, i spent 10 months away from the USA, Friends and Family. I heard a lot of guys every ship i go to that are breaking up with their girlfriends of getting divorced.
