Teachers left MOE to join Mind Stretcher because they want to focus on the children's academic achievements, NOT dwell in time-wasting non-teaching related admin work. Everything was great until Dec 2015. Teachers have to call all the parents every 3 months or so, to inform them of their children's progress in Mind Stretcher, and key-in via computers the conversation dialogue of each and every parent that the teacher spoke with over the phone, into the "system". Most teachers must travel long distances to attend mandatory training/sharing sessions which are usually held every few months on weekday mornings/afternoons. Absentees will be emailed by their respective Reporting Officers (ROs) to attend 2-hour video-screenings which are usually rescheduled at later dates, but also on weekday mornings/afternoons. Salary delays are inevitable, despite MOM law - most companies paid their employees BEFORE Lunar New Year - here? Only on the 10th Feb 2016. Drastic PAYCUT for all teachers across the board, and on top of that, the removal of all incentives. Weekend-Classes incentives ...... $5/hr on both Sat and Sun. Much higher fees were collected for GEP classes and selected English classes (Writers Toolbox) but the hourly rate paid to teachers is the SAME as the normal classes. Part-time teachers do not enjoy paid sick leave, even though this is mandated by MOM. Non-NIE trained tutors have no school-teaching experiences - they are also employed by Mind Stretcher. All the above push-factors are causing numerous existing teachers to refuse to take up or relief classes on both weekdays and weekends, resigning Mind Stretcher, etc.
