Pros

Deliver production homes at ABOVE semi-custom finishes and detail. I would move into anything I build. Every other builder I worked for promised to be in the field more to help close homes with zero defects. They all lied. My management is walking units EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. I don't find it "meddling" but great. Example, after a window install, I inspected all windows for operation and level. All good! Within a week, my boss called me "Did you notice one of your dormer windows has a crack in it?" I said no, thanks! When I got back to the unit, sure enough it had a crack that I WOULD have seen later but the manufacturers sticker made it harder to see, and the window was 14' above the floor. This is awesome for me as windows are some of the long lead replacement items. Got it swapped at least 3 weeks before we went for pre power inspection! My customer will NOT have to deal with its replacement in warranty! This is perhaps my greatest admiration. I have great support to build to the highest quality. If you apply here from working with large publicly traded US builders, throw all your horror stories away. I've been a super since 1998 and have NEVER been supported by management like this. Yes, I likely have more industry then them, but at other builders, quality never meant anything to them. Just beat on us supers so THEY COULD GET THEIR BONUS'.

Cons

We are running out of land in my area and I don't wish to relocate so my tenure will end, but they said they will give me a 4 MONTH heads up on my last day!!! Are you kidding me? There is a pro, they promised me if they bought land near me in the future, I would be invited back and retain seniority, benefits etc. Are there other real cons? Defiantly, but like all builders. If you don't satisfy customers. If you don't get out of the truck and inspect your jobs like you KNOW is the main reason you were hired. If you say to a problem "I'll leave that for warranty to fix." Then not only is Minto not a place for you, I would say that my industry is not the place for you.
