Pros
- MissionPoint is a trying to drive change in a very mature industry - and we are doing it as part of a mission to improve health and the healthcare experience of all we serve. I love being a part of such a bold mission. It is something that really sets the organization apart.
- There are so many great people at MissionPoint - the people and value are outstanding!
- Agile has been a challenging addition to the way we work, but I think it will drive real innovation as we perfect the process. It just takes time and sometimes it is hard to be patient.
- Its not always easy to work at MissionPoint due to the high rate of change and constant need to push against stagnate forces in healthcare, but the way we are changing and impacting the lives of our members keeps me going back every day!
Cons
- Healthcare - specifically hospitals - are not known for rapid change or innovation (developing evidence-based practices takes time). Being in an organization pushing against "the way things have always been done" can take its toll.
- If you struggle with change or like a predictable work environment, MissionPoint will not be a great fit.
- What you get in mission, you may not get in pay. The pay is less than what you make in the for-profit world (but still decent). Raises are annual and very low. Bonus plans are still not in place for leadership.
