Pros
Having worked at a few companies prior to arriving at Missionwell, I enjoyed making an impact on the workplace and the various shareholders. I always took pride in my work. What has made this a unique experience is that I know I'm making an impact on so many non-profit organizations and their individual missions. I know that if I can help one of our non-profit organization clients with their accounting so that they can focus on their mission, I am making a difference somewhere in the world. As corny as that sounds, it makes me feel good and motivates me to begin each day.
The staff here is mostly new like me. It almost feels like we all came in as part of the same class of sorts. We enjoy the staff lunches and bowling outings ... we actually even enjoy the business discussions we share as we collectively try to come up with creative solutions to some interesting problems. By the way, the ongoing snacks certainly help when I get food coma after lunch. =)
One other thing I see as a major pro is that everyone is given a chance to prove herself. We get new tasks and stretch assignments. As we show competency in those tasks, we are given larger assignments and room for promotions.
Cons
I wish there was more parking available, but parking on the street in front of the building isn't too bad I guess.
