Pros
Always had great people, some are still there but trying their best to get out.
Cons
Mobysoft definitely reached its peak a couple of years ago and through a collection of poor decisions and weak leadership has managed to squander its market position as well as fabricate an environment of toxicity and unproductivity. Many of those decision makers have fortunately moved on, but many are still working in the business and/or have hired similarly inept replacements. The leadership team tried to scale the company by treating it like a big company, bringing in unlikeable big-corp veterans who have little to no interest in individual people, the sector or trying new things to keep ahead. They have managed to destroy the once great culture, in the name of process and supposed progress. Several of these people sole achievements are seeing their entire teams turnover in their tenure (data, product, internal services) in less than 2 years and produce little to no actual output, yet still remain in place. They are protective of their own poor hires as well, destroying team cohesion and productivity. Mobysoft is unfortunately in its late stage decline in preparation to sell, with most of the great people having already left, trying to leave, or sitting on comfortable above market salaries. With this unlikely to change, I would not recommend anyone with any ambition join Mobysoft. If you want a simple life where there is no new development, product improvement and good work-life balance then Mobysoft is a great place to be, until the gravy train runs out...
