Pros

- You have a job - Insurance is adequate

Cons

- Upper management is toxic and likes to spread rumors about staff - They ignore serious problems that could harm patients - They overwhelm staff with responsibilities out of their job description and expertise. They set their staff up for failure. - They will give more work but will find every excuse in the book to not give a raise - They have racist employees who threaten people and get away with it because they are friends with management - There are no incentives to work holidays and work extra shifts - They hire reckless employees that makes it hard to do your job and risks patients lives - They are not up to code with a lot of NYS regulations AVOID this place like the plague.

Pros

The endowments are some of the best in the area. Pay is also higher than nursing homes like Masonic and Sitrin, as well as Rome Health. They have more professional development programs than I've seen from any company. The work is more relaxed and reflects the rate of pay better than anywhere I've ever experienced.

Cons

The culture is absolutely abhorrent. Micromanagement abounds to the highest degree. The entire department is a bunch of disgruntled old heads stuck in the union so long they've gone to rot. They'll gripe incessantly all day long; and when they run out of things to grouse about they'll start fabricating. Disinformation and supposition are second nature to them. Conjecture is the law of the land. Teamwork and honesty are a foreign language; opposite shifts are perpetually trying to undermine each other.
