Pros
Some publications like Ignites and Fundfire are more established than others.
Cons
A few of the newer publications are working under extreme stress and turnover is high; Some team editors make abusive and rude remarks that turn reporters away. This place values quantity and clicking numbers over good quality journalism. The readers are also their clients so there can be limitations on what can be reported. Junior reporters should not be disillusioned with the "FT" name since this is not Financial Times; they are just smaller vertical publications acquired by FT group and managed by different directors and editors. And you are not paid with an FT journalist salary, of course. Newer teams are small, and whether you can have a fulfilling or healthy worklife depends entirely on the ethics and temper of that one managing editor on top of you.
