Pros
-Really great benefits, especially health insurance, at zero cost to employee. -Remote work flexibility across the board. -Pockets of great people doing great creative work.
Cons
-Lack of clear vision/identity from senior management. Can’t decide if Monks is an agency or production company. Don't have a strong plan for profitability either way. -Poor employee retention due to lack of opportunity for growth/development. As stated in other reviews, standard HR protocols like annual performance reviews aren’t conducted, seemingly so that raises never need to be given out. Top talent sees this and is leaving as a result. -As stated in other reviews, large swaths of talented employees are being laid off simply to be swapped for lower-cost replacements in other countries. -As also stated in other reviews, the company aggressively expanded through a series of poorly managed acquisitions that led to a lot of internal friction. They swung for the fences but ultimately whiffed, with stock plummeting as a result. -Individual client teams largely operate as independent entities. So you better like where you land, because stretch opportunities are minimal.
