Pros
I worked at Moon Valley for over a year. I got to watch the tides of employees rise and fall. I've kept up to date on the reviews here, and I can understand what they say. Personally, I found Pete somewhat intimidating. I think it's important to note he's a grandfather while most employees at Moon Valley are in there 20s. I feel like this generational gap has caused a lot of the negative reactions to him–our generation isn't necessarily used to interacting with someone much older than us yet, and that can make a lot of behavior seem much worse than if it came from someone else. Perhaps my explanation of this is wrong, but I stick to the main point–while Pete could get exasperated and say less than ideal things at times, I think this fell squarely in the realm of excusable, normal behavior. In my experience, both with me and from sitting within hearing range of his office, Pete put a great deal of effort into clear communication and rarely made unfair demands. He treated me well and gave me incredible time and hours flexibility. I will look back on Moon Valley fondly.
Cons
– some questions asked during meetings were too specific for a quick answer (how many man hours will that take?), which led to hasty guesswork
– raises were tied to a silly 6 month goal system
– high turnover! I lost a lot of coworkers
