There's no reason anybody should be a sales rep here unless they absolutely cannot find a real sales gig with a base pay and benefits. There are just so many opportunities out there that make working here a totally nonsensical decision. The only thing I can think is that maybe there are just no good jobs in their successful markets because attempts to branch out in the past to more developed parts of the country seem to have failed more than once.
Even becoming a W2 employee here you'll find the benefits are horrible and the money just doesn't make sense. If you are successful in your career then DO NOT be enticed by promises of bigger better things on the horizon. The executive team is great at selling the dream but it's all a bait and switch. I felt totally deceived when I started my new role and was met with a completely outrageous set of standards and not a single tool given to me to hit them.
I am a very experienced sales rep and have been successful everywhere I have gone. This company resells AT&T products (U-Verse) and I can tell you that it's the most clunky and unintuitive sales process I have ever seen. I've never seen a company get in the way of the success of its sales reps more than AT&T does. Specifically their order submission process but also their non-competitive promotions and products. Don't let anybody tell you that you're selling best in class services because I never once made a sale that didn't call me a week later due to trouble with their service. I've never had so many issues with so little sales volume.
