Misleading is an understatement - Technician Mr. Handyman Employee Review

Pros

Good techs and a helpful dispatch team

Cons

The technician position pays the bare minimum with the promise of commission with a very sizable catch, you are not paid for the time in-between contracts and your scale of commission percentage can fluctuate depending on if your job was estimated by you or by another tech. Your paycheck will never be predictable and will consistently leave you guessing if you are paid enough. When you get your pay stubs your hrs will not be listed, forcing you to guess what hours you actually got paid for.

Pros

Amazing work life balance. Working by yourself, perfect for the divergent people. Company van with gas paid for starting day 1 that you get to take home daily. Penny (owner) is amazing and the best boss.

Cons

Small company so health insurance is very pricy (125.00 per paycheck).

Pros

Boss fights to have solid employees, no poisonous attitudes, great pay and benefits, office staff is supportive and very good at what they do.

Cons

The only major one is that this is a “road life” job. It’s not for everyone, but it’s what I’ve done for nearly two decades so I am used to it.
