Little Room to Grow - Assistant Warehouse Manager Mueller Roofing Distributors Employee Review

Pros

The training programs are good. Average pay for warehouse / driver jobs. Has busy and slow seasons, which could be looked at as a negative. 401 K match. Often food is purchased for workers lunches which is nice. Management cares about how the company presents its self and helps when possible.

Cons

Definitely obvious nepotism for Mueller family members, over people better suited for management positions. Not much room to move up in the company. Sales reps and management are treated the best, while drivers and warehouse workers are often regarded as replaceable. Customers can be rude and disrespectful to drivers and warehouse workers.

Pros

Just like any job there are pro's and con's. Can't say to much as for the pro's.

Cons

Con's are to many to name, but here is a few. One, is this company has a very bad habit of letting the drivers do, say or act whatever way they want to and the company treats warehouse workers as if their job isn't that important. Drivers can sit around and play on their phone while the warehouse workers are breaking their back to work. Drivers only has to say it's not my job and then they can just do nothing. Some drivers would help, but not many. This company also will send warehouse workers out to do pick-ups, drop offs or help drivers, when that wasn't their job to do, all because the company was short handed. When you send 3 of the 4 warehouse workers out to do things and leave the one person there alone, well, they have to carry the burden all by themselves. It was said that the company was scared to lose drivers because they was hard to replace, so they just let them do whatever. If they didn't want to do something, then all they had to say was, "No I'm not doing it". Guess who then had to do it? You guessed it, the warehouse worker. Warehouse workers job responsibilities are, stocking, unloading freight when it came in, organizing, cleaning, pulling customer orders and customer returns, pulling drivers orders for that day or the next, pulling transfers for other Mueller companies and unloading transfers that are coming to you and doing everything else they want to demand of you. Keep in mind, you can be expected to do all this at the same time. You can be given several customer orders to pull, then have to restock something because it needs it, then have multiple trucks pull in that needs unloaded, transfer drivers pulling in needed loaded or unloaded. All this while trying to pull customer orders that are out there waiting on you. Now, if they send out the other warehouse workers while your left alone, imagine trying to juggle all that and more by yourself and then get asked, "Why is it taking so long?". While you are trying to do all this stuff and look over and see multiple drivers doing nothing and refusing to help you, then that becomes a major issue for me. Now let me give the list of drivers responsibilities, they have to load their truck, but not always because sometimes warehouse workers are expected to do it for them,(Load what the warehouse workers pulled for them) and then drive to a customer and drop the stuff off by either a crane or Moffit. That's their list and that's it... Don't let me get started with them OVER STOCKING EVERYTHING to the point of no room to move and unable to find stuff because of SOOOOOO much stuff!!!. Who do you think pays the cost of taking so long to get something done for a customer who is waiting on you? You guessed it, the CUSTOMER! This company is a joke when it comes to Management.
