Pros
In client services departments you are given a lot of exposure to diverse business contacts and cases from multiple clients projects assigned in parallel. As your are the client facing representative who also has responsibility to validate the built software functionality, there is a lot of hands on and detailed knowledge acquired while working among bright and great people.
Cons
Work done beyond the job description is discounted. Workload and over-achievement matter less to the bonus level than the project or manager you are involved with. Very poor work-life balance. Deceptive career management practice.
