Pros
This is a small company, so you are able to learn many new assays, experiments and procedures in a short amount of time. A good way to learn many new skills. Lots of new employees and relatively young workforce.
Cons
This is not a place you want to work. Senior management refuses to listen to constructive feedback and will instead blame you for any issues and pressure you to quit. In the past year that I have been working here, I have been expected to follow protocols written on napkins (given to me by senior management) and subsequently scolded (by the same management) for not following an official, typed protocol. There is also an issue about sanitation within fume hoods (such as micropipet tips left in culture flask and fungus growing inside fume hood) caused by the senior management, and subsequently blamed onto junior employees. All in all, this is a toxic environment to work in, PLEASE look elsewhere for a job. Every employee has been harassed at least once by the senior management. When going to complain to the CEO, the senior management simply gets a little slap on the wrist and the bullying continues. This company thrives on its low employee retention rate due to these issues. They get to keep the same senior management and hire unexperienced employees for significantly low wages. I do not know if these issues will be resolved in the near future.
