Pros
Free food and good location.
Cons
The most bizarre company to work for. Very cliquey. There are a core group of employees and managers who have been there for years, they decide on the "culture" of the office, who makes the cut and who "isn't a good fit". In my time working there, an average of one person per month was let go. They would take job applicants through a series of weird interviews, where a group of current employees would quiz the applicant to find out if they would fit in. The group would then go off and discuss the applicant's answers and their suitability with other staff while the applicant was still sitting in the other room. Management let people go purely because their personality wasn't the cookie cutter they wanted. You never felt secure in your job. If my manager ever wanted to speak to me, I assumed I was about to be fired. As others have mentioned, employees were asked to give good feedback on Glassdoor as MyBuilder is so concerned about their public image. The high staff turnover never seemed to concern them, they didn't see it as a problem with the company despite it being glaringly obvious that it was. They called themselves a startup despite the fact that they should be well out of that stage, given the years they have been operating. Negative racial stereotypes were made on multiple occasions by management level staff which made myself and others really uncomfortable. These comments were made in relation to users of the website. I found it ironic that a company so obsessed with company culture could be so culturally insensitive and discriminating. I can honestly say that MyBuilder was the worst company I have ever worked for.
