Pros

1. Great team: smart, friendly, motivated, low ego. 2. Fascinating problem: automating human cell culture to speed up drug discovery. This is the infrastructure that'll be required to scale cell therapy. 3. Truly multi-disciplinary + skillset rich org. Product is at intersection of biology, hardware and software. Great day-to-day culture of collaboration across the org as a result of this 4. Fast moving with ownership mindset. You have ability to write the "play-book" for how we do things. 5. Customer centric: we build what scientists need. Our efforts pay off with real-life use by customers.

Cons

1. Flip side of moving fast - you need to hop on for the ride & embrace change. 2. Flip side of being an early mover - uncertainty. Mytos is often the first product customers have bought for what we do. Means learning curve is steep with iteration required. 3. Work-life balance. Many customers based in US, for ops this can mean being "on" UK evenings during peak periods.

Pros

- Impossibly well curated team; always friendly, no drama, everyone has everyone's back. I've worked in similar sorts of companies and never encountered such a holistically brilliant team. Easily the best bit. - (double edge sword) Strong growth culture: they're deadly serious about growth, it's not just a corporate ritual. Can be quite exhausting at times. - Great problem space: loads of real-impact potential in what's being designed and headroom to work on pretty novel stuff - Managed maturely: never had a 'toxic experience' and degree of management excellent is high given small size/age of company

Cons

- Can be excessively layered and bureaucratic: change takes longer to push than perhaps befits a such a small company with low-volume B2B products, can be frustrating and stifle creativity unless you've got loads of energy to push back. Degree of separation between most people and leadership is large given workforce size, too. - Very lean workforce, hours can be long: definitely not a place for clock-in-clock-out types. Culture of presenteeism is minimal, but goals are always extremely ambitious and hours can be extended by large proportion of customer base being in US. - Spaces are physically cramped: frustrates the hands on work of an engineer, causes clutter issues, and can hurt the psyche sometimes

Pros

Mytos offers high potential for learning and up-skilling, through collaboration with a brilliant team of experts across multiple fields. Working as a mechanical engineer - I not only grew significantly in my own field - I also picked up plenty of knowledge and useful skills in electronics, software development and biology. The work is very impactful, with opportunities to make a difference both within the company and the wider biotech/pharma industries. Mytos is a driven and exceptionally organised company, that also fosters a supportive and sociable work environment.

Cons

Occasional long work days, due to customer time zones.
