Nature of the work is very interesting, and there is a variety of research projects going on.

What makes NAMA’s services attractive is their theoretical triangulation of in-house survey work, in-depth interviews with persons of interest, and research-based assessments. However, most of the research is conducted by unpaid college interns who receive little guidance or mentorship. Rather than letting research help inform the conclusion, there was virtually no coordination between the literature review and survey teams to arrive at a single unified understanding of our research. After I was offered a job as a researcher and analyst, I mistakenly trusted that we would eventually get around to signing an official job contract after I began work. I politely tried to sit down with my boss to get a job contract signed, but there was always a new excuse or delay. Ultimately, I had to threaten not to provide them weeks of research work before I finally received my first paycheck. Everybody did their work through their own personal laptop from home, which means there was no operational security. While I was repeatedly told by management that they considered me a valuable asset, it eventually became clear that they had no intention to compensate my work or integrate me with their operation.
