      Pros

      Good benefits package. Decent compensation in up market but expect no bonuses at all in an even or down market.

      Cons

      Oil & Gas is a volatile industry, and there have been massive layoffs in 2016 & 2017. NOV does not understand software and it is a challenge to move management out of their comfort zone. There is a strong "good old boys" culture that can be hostile to women and minorities.

      Very work/life balance friendly. Very strong benefits package.

      Cons

      Very Siloed. NOV is the result of over 100 acquisitions and the fractured condition of systems and procedures is evident. Leadership is working on it.
