Pros

This company has a great culture, strong teamwork, and incredible managers who truly take the time to properly train and support you in your role. There are plenty of opportunities for growth within the company, and they do a great job recognizing and celebrating team successes. Overall, it’s a positive and motivating work environment to be a part of.

Cons

More remote work options would be a great addition for employees seeking greater flexibility and work-life balance.

Pros

I have enjoyed my time working at NYSS. The company is committed to helping homeowners save money with solar, and I appreciate working with people who genuinely care about customers. The team environment is very collaborative, and leadership is open to feedback and focused on continuous improvement.

Cons

Like and growing company there are challenges and changes along the way, I have found that people are willing to work together to solve problems. It been rewarding place to work professionally while contributing to a meaningful mission.

Pros

Okay benefits Great coworkers That’s kinda it. Future looks bleak.

Cons

Constantly disorganized and underpays for the amount of work heaped on each individual due to dwindling staff. Firings happen seemingly at random, other people are quitting due to hostile company culture. Leadership is often lost in the weeds, and customers are unhappy. Rampant nepotism and conflicts of interest. Middle management is incompetent but really good at kissing up to the right people for security. Company cares more about appearances than results. Expectations and responsibilities are inconsistent. Underhandedly discriminatory to certain identities. They insist that we’re growing but our staff is smaller than ever, we lose someone nearly every 2 weeks. There are limited paths to upward mobility unless you were hired in from another solar company or know someone in charge. Most positions are dead-end. They expect you to care about the business as if it is your own without the benefits of being an owner. They will tout one employee’s success story of upward mobility or monetary gain to new hires as if that is the norm… it is not. Hollow gestures of gratitude from senior leadership that do nothing to actually help the people who work for them.
