Pros
Interesting, fast-paced, demanding work that changes as the concerns of the world evolve. Many opportunities to internally publish work products and to deploy.
Cons
Can be a hostile work environment. Many of the employees and managers are ex-military who have never worked in private industry, academia or not-for-profit. This translates into a culture that is heavily influenced with military training styles. In other words, it is common for a manager or team analyst to yell at you at the top of his lungs to "inspire" you to work longer, faster and harder. Some days even leaving your desk to go to the bathroom can trigger a yelling fit. Second, NGA seems hostile to women in general, though some country areas are worse than others. The openness of this hostility depends on unit management. Some of it is reflected in work load assignments and passive-aggressive behavior, but more commonly it is crude behavior and rudeness.
