Cons
Working at NM has been a frustrating experience due to a serious lack of leadership and accountability. Upper management consistently fails to provide clear direction, leaving assistants confused and often overburdened with unrealistic expectations. They always ask for too many tasks (follow-ups, operations, social media, sale strategies, housekeeping) without offering the necessary support to succeed. On top of that, the work environment is toxic, with abusive treatment from certain managers & stylists who seem to think that intimidation is an effective management style. Constructive feedback is rare; instead, many employees are subjected to harsh gaslighting criticism, and micromanagement. Favoritism is another major issue. Certain employees seem to get special treatment, or easier workloads based on personal relationships rather than merit. This leads to resentment and low morale across the department, as hard work often goes unrecognized unless you're part of the favored circle. Also, there's no moving up with this position, you'll stay the same forever. Overall, this is a company that needs to seriously re-evaluate how it treats its employees, from the top down. Without changes in leadership and culture, the work environment will continue to deteriorate, especially after the merger.
