Good company - Soffware Engineer Neurio Technology Employee Review

I've worked at Neurio for several years now, through more than a few ups and downs, and one thing that's always been consistent is that it's a company with a lot of great people who are a pleasure to work with. Neurio is in a very exciting space - renewable energy and smart homes - and has the opportunity to make a significant and positive difference in that industry. Its main challenge is that there are so many different directions that the company could go in that it has been hard to build alignment on a particular course of action and stick to it for an extended period of time, and this had some negative effects on morale over the years. The company's been fairly successful these last few years though, and has recently made some promising changes in how it approaches product development, market research, and general management practices - partly through some good hires and also through some general cultural improvements. The impact of these recent changes is starting to show, and personally, I'm optimistic that these changes will lead to a lot of success for the company, especially in the coming year. If that happens, Neurio will be a great place to work at - lots of great people (to be fair, that's true about a lot of places), a successful company with a lot of growth ahead, and a company whose success directly translates into a positive impact on the environment.

Mostly the few years of a lack of focus and clear vision, but those are starting to come together again recently.

vacation is "unlimited", dogs allowed in office, colleagues are pretty cool and remote working opportunity.

I am sad to report that Neurio has lost its vision. This once amazing company had a fun, fast-pace and hardworking environment that made you want to work hard for your team. Unfortunately, with the changes in upper management the culture has drastically changed, more often than not you find yourself working to the bone with little to no guidance or support to an impossible deadline for no recognition and maybe even a threat to "reprimand". Upper management is rude and openly talks horribly about different team members - I am happy I got out while I still had some sanity and self-confidence left to me.
