Highly exploitative - Media Associate Next Level Video Employee Review

Pros

Relaxed corporate culture, as in no dress code for men, plenty of sports talk, and goofing around.

Cons

Wage theft!! The logistics manager bragged about contracts to temp employees being not legally enforceable in terms of withholding pay if terms were not met. This pattern extends tenfold to salaried employees who are forced to work grueling overtime with no compensation. During a "busy season" it would not be abnormal for employees to stay at work beyond 12am. Worker retention is horrible and burnout is common. Sexism is pervasive, during brainstorming sessions women's ideas will be ignored unless repeated by a man.

Pros

They come prepared, provide lunch, no experience necessary. Great pay! Staff and fellow contractors are usually wonderful to work with.

Cons

If other contractors don't show up, it could be a lot more work. Physical work. Jobs are typically outside, in various weather conditions. lots of standing.

Pros

First Scout was a great company to work for before NLV purchased them

Cons

I worked with First Scout for 4 years in a row with no problems but now that NLV purchased the company they have dropped me from two events. The first event they withdrew me 3 days before the event, it was only a 3 day event so it wasn't a huge deal. I ended up booking another 8 day event with them over the summer and surprise surprise they dropped me again. This time I had booked a room for the whole duration which I cannot get any sort of refund for. So I've managed to lose money attempting to work with them since they were bought out by NLV. I called them (it was very hard to get a hold of them) and they said there was nothing they could do about it. I would not recommend working with them as a contractor. I wouldnt recommend working
