Pros

Company car Camera kit Qualifications Other photographers are great fun (when you get to see them)

Cons

Very isolated job Only paid 9-5 but reality is 6/7am starts, get home 7pm and don’t finish working till 10pm Management are under so much pressure they don’t have the energy or time to care about their staff Directors are glorified salesmen who only care about the money / their bonuses Sick pay bonus scheme is archaic and totally biased towards parents HR don’t care about the humans working out on the road No protection from nasty agents or vendors No career progression. If you’re not in the clique you may as well quit

Pros

the only good things were not being around your god awful management all day as you’re on your own, and a company car that you can use for personal too. massive appreciation for jonny the training manager, the best person in that company for sure.

Cons

everything and more. pay was barely minimum wage no matter your experience and skills you’ll come in on the lowest wage scale management are awful, you’ll go days without any communication i was driving around 250 miles a day feeling exhausted and being told that’s just how it is because they can’t employ more people (as no one wants to work for them). you have to get at least 3-6 jobs in a day or you’ll never even receive any bonus that’s worth while, so because i had to drive so far between jobs, i had to have significantly longer days than my fellow employees, for the same pay? that would NEVER happen in an office, same job but working 3 hours a day longer for the same pay? the way they let people go is insane, have heard the same experience from others. my boss knew i was going through some extremely tough circumstances outside of work after many a conversation yet randomly get a teams call added into my diary at 4pm with no context, asked for warning about what it’s about and within the 5 minute teams call i was told that’s it, i don’t have a job after 5pm today. no compassion, and a call lasting less than 5 minutes to say that’s it you’re jobless from tomorrow…after conveniently lengthening my probation only 2 months prior…seemed they lengthened it just so they could easily get rid of people without a longer notice period. they also encourage working out of hours to get more jobs in so you’re more likely to get a bonus, and because you need the bonus as they pay is so bad you’ll do it, it’s genuinely insane. never worked somewhere so bad.

Pros

Company car, all equipment provided.

Cons

I applied to be a photographer but was quickly reassigned as an energy assessor, with no real discussion — suddenly I was climbing into lofts and measuring insulation instead of taking photos. The scheduling was chaotic and unrealistic, with jobs booked far apart, forcing me to speed, rush parking, and rack up monthly fines that ate into an already low wage. Lunch breaks didn’t exist, and late finishes were the norm, often cutting into personal time. Annual leave is barely legal. Management, particularly Ryan (London), came off more like a wannabe Dragons’ Den judge than someone who understood photography or valued his team — it was all about hitting targets to boost his own image. If you’re a creative trying to build a portfolio, use this place briefly if you must, then run.
