It’s got a nice canteen and journey to the office is okay. Discount is good when it’s within your pay scale, pay is industry standard.
Cons
Culture of fear prevails, fear of further cutbacks mean people are more interested in covering up mistakes than rectifying the cause. Big deal made about non Japanese MD, but he’s a hatchet man who knows almost nothing about the industry. Other members of staff will go out of their way to ensure you know they don’t like you, both in the office and at social events. One senior member of the instruments team in particular will make personal comments about female members of staff that belong in the 60’s or are fresh out of a Mad Men script. Due to a shrinking market the management/pay structure is top heavy. A discount on products that staff can’t afford is no discount at all. Staff are pressured by HR and PR team emails to turn their social media accounts into Nikon sales adverts.
