Hires were used as cannon fodder on suboptimal projects - Consultant NoBlue2 Employee Review

Pros

There were some nice people who worked there, too.

Cons

NoBlue in its original iteration took advantage of the abundance of demand for ERP system implementations correlating with the pandemic years and immediately after. Their sales department were bringing in more and more less-than-ideal projects by under-pricing and over-promising to clients - and, to be fair to them, this was printing them money. The only problem was that the availability of resources for delivering these projects did not seem to factor in as a consideration. As a solution to this, they hired a bunch of people who either knew or did not know how to do their jobs, and performed at varying degrees of commitment and efficiency. Mid-management was essentially non-existent, everyone was either overworked and burnt out or just completely checked out, there was no internal employee feedback system, no standards of operation, no trainings, nothing. Work quality and client satisfaction suffered massively as a result. I don't know what they are like in their new, NoBlue2 iteration, but I think it's very telling that the only guy that stayed on in NB2 from the original NB's team of director level colleagues was the then CEO, who has since been shifted to what I imagine to be a largely ceremonial CSO role.

Pros

Good people and staff who work for each other - very good hires to the team in past years. Real good team ethos and direct team leadership!

Cons

Lack of “people first” approach- can sometimes just feel like a number. Despite the continued view that we are a people first business!

Pros

I joined last year, and have enjoyed it. I see some of the frustration in other reviews and don't recognise it myself - but I've not come from one of the older businesses, which maybe plays a part in their thoughts. - Work with good partners (mainly NetSuite, some Microsoft too which seems to be doing well) - Seem to be hiring smart people. Several new senior leaders hired, plus new consultants in various countries. - A positive focus on communication and career development from what I've seen. - Quite open in terms of information sharing. - Everyone has been very welcoming to me.

Cons

- Still inefficient in some areas, mainly around information sharing for new starters or between teams and I can see. - A mix of smaller clients and larger ones creates variety (good), but also can be demanding on time (less good). - Not yet solved how the business works in a distributed way whilst creating a strong culture. Can see work here to improve this.
