Pros
Beautiful facility and great cafeteria. Some really fine folks still work here, even after all the recent and ongoing layoffs.
Cons
Used to be a great place to work. Witness the events of the last six years, listed most recently first: Company wins biggest contract of its history – unfortunately it was done with low rates, hence it begins laying off 20 and 30 year vets and cutting severance before it lays them off; that must be why it’s been honored for “ethics”; over the last 6 years, there have been biting cuts in medical and 401K contribution and short term disability and scholarships and educational reimbursement for children and employees – the list is endless. Yet if you kiss up to the right people and/or were entrenched in the country club of MITRE, you can go very far at Noblis. Management thought they were rebranding the company as “noblis oblige” – “benevolent, honorable behavior considered to be the responsibility of persons of high birth or rank.” But that phrase is used in French most often ironically - the supposed obligation of nobility to be honorable and generous. You gave up the most valuable thing you had – name recognition! MIT! MITRE! For what? A company name that starts with a negative?
